Traffic Exchanges:

This is one of the most misunderstood forms of generating traffic
because most people don’t know how to use traffic exchanges
effectively. To understand why this is true, you first have to
understand how a traffic exchange works. I will simplify the
explanation.

A traffic exchange is essentially a site where the person using it
agrees to “surf” a number of pages of other people’s sites in order
to earn credits for his own site. The more sites he surfs, the more
credits he earns. For each credit, or several credits, he gets to
show his site to another member of the exchange. That’s the process
in a nutshell.

Okay, so why doesn’t this work for about 99% of the people using
them?

For starters, you have to understand the mentality of the people
using TEs. They are there for one reason and one reason only…to
get credits for THEIR site. They couldn’t care less about your
sales page or opportunity. However, they do care about getting
traffic to their sites. And this is how you can take advantage of
TEs.

What I do is simple. I whip up a short splash page telling people
to stop surfing for traffic until they read my free report. The
free report explains to them how to use TEs and actually get people
to their site, by using this same technique.

From there, once you have them on your list, offer them more good
content on how to generate traffic to their site. Eventually, they
will begin to trust you and may actually purchase one of your
products that you recommend.

The people who use this process are the ones that are successful
with traffic exchanges.

If you REALLY want to get the most out of traffic exchanges, I
suggest you subscribe to my friend Jon Olson’s newsletter. This
guy makes ALL his income off of them.

Facts About Link Exchanges

September 1st, 2008

Its Brian here, today I want to talk about Link Exchanges.

First a simple brief definition for those who don’t know what
these are. My apologies to those who already know, for the review.
I’ll make it brief.

A link exchange is basically where one site owner contacts another
site owner and asks if he’d like to exchange links. In other words,
site owner 1 puts a link on his site from site owner 2 and site
owner 2 puts a link on his site from site owner 1. In theory, this
is very simple and is a great way to build up backlinks to your
site.

The reality is a much different picture.

See, the site owners are all out for themselves. So they’re not
going to exchange links with somebody who has a site that can’t
help them. In other words a guy with a PR4 site isn’t going to
exchange links with a guy who has a PR0 site. There is nothing in
it for him. And if you are a PR0 site and you exchange links with
another PR0 site, well, this really doesn’t do much for you either.
You need to get your links on higher ranked sites.

Well, there is an easy way to do it but it doesn’t involve doing
a link exchange. Good luck getting one that is to your advantage.

The best way to get a link on a high ranked site is simply to put
it there yourself.

How?

Blogs can get very high PR rankings and many blogs allow comments.
So simply go to a blog in your niche with a high PR and post a
comment. Make it one that has some real value…maybe even giving
some tips of your own that relate to the blog itself. Then, in
your signature, simply place a link to your site.

And then watch your SE rankings climb.

Yes, you will have to go to quite a few blogs but over the long
run, it will work.

But forget link exchanges…You’re fighting an uphill battle with
those.

See you then.

Sincerely,

Brian Dew

Forum Marketing Tips

August 31st, 2008

Lets talk about forums.

Forums are tricky. Most will not allow you to blatantly promote
your products and services. So how can you take advantage of forums
and actually turn them into an income generating method of
promotion?

By not promoting.

Okay, I’m not being funny here. See, the biggest mistakes that
marketers make is that they go into forums and right off the bat
try to sell their stuff. It doesn’t fly, especially not with the
top forums in the industry. You’ll be booted out of there in no
time flat.

So how DO you take advantage of forums?

By establishing yourself as an authority.

Now, this is easier said than done. The truth is, you better be an
authority on your subject…or at least know what you’re talking
about.

But how does this help you to make sales?

Easy…What you do is sign up with the forum and then start reading
the posts of other members who have questions. If you find some
that you can answer…answer them. Don’t give a few line answers.
Really give them some solid content, just like you would in a
newsletter.

Eventually, if you do this long enough, you will start to build a
name for yourself a develop a following. Forum members will begin
to trust you…and start to look at your signature.

Yes, you are allowed to have signatures in most forums. Use it. Make
sure you have a link to your site and a brief description of what
they will find there and how it will help them.

You will find, over time, that forums will begin to make up a big
chunk of your income if you do this correctly.

The absolute best forum on the Internet, at least in the Internet
Marketing community for using this approach is the Warrior’s Forum.
Go there and sign up. You won’t regret it. Just don’t spam. Obey
the rules and you’ll be fine.

Heres a nifty little peice of software that will help save some time
in your forum marketing

Facts about hosting your own FFAs

August 30th, 2008

Today I want to go over FFA Hosting.
This is one of the most misunderstood forms of advertising on the
Internet, and as a result, very few people use it. All the better
for you and me.

FFA Hosting is NOT to be confused with FFA Posting. They are not
the same thing.

FFA Posting is when a person goes to an FFA site or uses a submitter
to post an ad to an FFA site. In return, if they read their
agreement, they agree to receive one confirmation email from each
site they post to. The ads themselves never get read because nobody
goes to these sites for the purpose of reading ads. But marketers
just don’t seem to get that.

FFA Posting is the reverse process. These are the people who
actually own the FFA sites and send the confirmation emails, all
can spam act 2003 compliant and all sent from the site’s servers
so there is no risk of spam complaints affecting your personal
account online.

This method of promotion is effective IF you do one very important
thing, and that is to educate the prospect as to why posting FFA
ads is a waste of their time. Then, if you’re smart, you’ll offer
them a chance to get a free report, much like the one you got from
me, where they can learn more about Internet marketing and how to
market in a way where their ads WILL be seen.

You’ll be surprised how many sales you will make monthly using this system.

Ezine Advertising Facts

August 29th, 2008

Today I want to talk about ezine ads.
This is probably one of the most misunderstood forms of advertising
that there are simply because of the misconceptions about ezine
advertising. So I will try to clear some of them up.

For starters, ezine ads are not worthless as most people seem to
think.

Believe it or not, there are people who subscribe to these
ezines who actually do read them for their content and THAT is the
key to placing a solo ezine ad that actually brings result. You
have to educate the prospect in the ad, as if it were an actual
ezine issue, before you can make your pitch.

There is a perfect way to do this and I am surprised that most
people don’t figure it out or even try it if they do.

Many ezine owners are crying for content. They either don’t have
the time to create it themselves or the skill. This is where you, as
a writer, come in.

The steps are simple.

1. Look up an ezine in the ezine directories online that matches
your niche. Try to find one with a decent membership base. This is
still a numbers game so if you’re product converts at 2% or better,
you should do fairly well as long as the ezine fits your niche and
has a decent size membership.

2. Write to the ezine owner and offer to do a series of articles in
exchange for a solo ad. Trust me, many will take you up on your
offer.

3. Incorporate your “ad” into the last article in the series. This
way it doesn’t appear as a flat out sales pitch. You will be
surprised at how many prospects will be responsive to this approach.

What this does is it gets you a solo ezine ad at no cost to you,
plus it makes it more effective than if you just paid for an ad
with no lead in. Think about it…with a series of articles…these
people have gotten to know you already.

Try this method at least a few times.

I am sure you will find that it gets great results. If it does,
please write to me and let me know how you made out.
