Forum Marketing Tips

Posted by Brian on 31 August 2008

Lets talk about forums.

Forums are tricky. Most will not allow you to blatantly promote
your products and services. So how can you take advantage of forums
and actually turn them into an income generating method of
promotion?

By not promoting.

Okay, I’m not being funny here. See, the biggest mistakes that
marketers make is that they go into forums and right off the bat
try to sell their stuff. It doesn’t fly, especially not with the
top forums in the industry. You’ll be booted out of there in no
time flat.

So how DO you take advantage of forums?

By establishing yourself as an authority.

Now, this is easier said than done. The truth is, you better be an
authority on your subject…or at least know what you’re talking
about.

But how does this help you to make sales?

Easy…What you do is sign up with the forum and then start reading
the posts of other members who have questions. If you find some
that you can answer…answer them. Don’t give a few line answers.
Really give them some solid content, just like you would in a
newsletter.

Eventually, if you do this long enough, you will start to build a
name for yourself a develop a following. Forum members will begin
to trust you…and start to look at your signature.

Yes, you are allowed to have signatures in most forums. Use it. Make
sure you have a link to your site and a brief description of what
they will find there and how it will help them.

You will find, over time, that forums will begin to make up a big
chunk of your income if you do this correctly.

The absolute best forum on the Internet, at least in the Internet
Marketing community for using this approach is the Warrior’s Forum.
Go there and sign up. You won’t regret it. Just don’t spam. Obey
the rules and you’ll be fine.

Heres a nifty little peice of software that will help save some time
in your forum marketing

Facts about hosting your own FFAs

Posted by Brian on 30 August 2008

Today I want to go over FFA Hosting.
This is one of the most misunderstood forms of advertising on the
Internet, and as a result, very few people use it. All the better
for you and me.

FFA Hosting is NOT to be confused with FFA Posting. They are not
the same thing.

FFA Posting is when a person goes to an FFA site or uses a submitter
to post an ad to an FFA site. In return, if they read their
agreement, they agree to receive one confirmation email from each
site they post to. The ads themselves never get read because nobody
goes to these sites for the purpose of reading ads. But marketers
just don’t seem to get that.

FFA Posting is the reverse process. These are the people who
actually own the FFA sites and send the confirmation emails, all
can spam act 2003 compliant and all sent from the site’s servers
so there is no risk of spam complaints affecting your personal
account online.

This method of promotion is effective IF you do one very important
thing, and that is to educate the prospect as to why posting FFA
ads is a waste of their time. Then, if you’re smart, you’ll offer
them a chance to get a free report, much like the one you got from
me, where they can learn more about Internet marketing and how to
market in a way where their ads WILL be seen.

You’ll be surprised how many sales you will make monthly using this system.
